Mari Habba peacefully celebrated in Bhatkal amid tight security

July 24, 2014 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Taluka’s famous Mari Habba that began yesterday ended today after immersion of Mari idol in the sea. Strict security arrangements were put into place here in view of the Mari Habba procession. Hindu brethren from nearby towns and villages thronged here from yesterday to celebrate the festival with traditional and religious fervor. In the market, various shops were seen selling several varieties of sweets. However, in view of Mari Habba, Ramadan Bazar stalls were closed today. Hindu brethren on this occasion make special worship on this occasion also offer sacrifices of animals to receive blessings and fulfillment of their wishes.   -ARF
