Mari Habba celebrated in Bhatkal amid tight security

Bhatkal: Taluk's famous Mari Habba that began yesterday ended today after immersion of Mari idol in the sea.
Hindu brethren from the village as well from the nearby khedas had come to celebrate the festival with great fervour. In the market, various shops were seen selling several varieties of sweets. However, in view of Mari Habba, stalls were not granted permission by the municipality.
Hindu brethren on this occasion make a special pooja and also sacrifice hens to receive healing for their illnesses. The festival ended after a procession of Mari Amma's idol was taken out and subsequently immersed in Jaali sea. Special forces were deployed in Bhatkal in view of the festival.
