Mari habba celebrated in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 12 July 2012: Bhatkal's famous Mari festival ended peacefully here with a special Pooja of Mari Amma idol being offered at Mari Kamba temple in Bhatkal. On this occasion large number of devotees from in and around Bhatkal participated in the rally and immersed the Mari Amma idol in the sea.

It may be noted that, on the occasion of Mari habba, Hindus seek medication from the Godess Mari from all their illness, offer special poojas and sacrifice roosters.

Tight security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of festival.
