Manki: 60 year old man falls from tree, dies on the spot

Manki 9 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A 60-year-old man died on spot after falling from the Areca nut tree while plucking Betel leaves, at Anantwadi near Manki here on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Narayan Kuppa Naik (60), a resident of Anantwadi. According to the Sources, on Monday morning around 9:30 am Narayan had climbed the Arecanut tree to pluck the Betel leaves, but as he reached height he slipped and fell on to the ground due to the slippery nature of the tree due to the rain in the coastal belt over the last few days. He succumbed to the multiple injuries he sustained on the spot. A case has been registered at Manki Police Station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
