Mankal Vaidya set to become Janata bank president as Congress wins twelve of 13 seats; BJP wins PLD bank

Bhatkal 20 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Congress continued their stronghold over the Janata Co-operative society bank, while the BJP camp triumphed the PLD Bank after a hard fought election battle that was held at the campus of Shri Sudhindra colleged here in Bhatkal.
80% votes polling was reported from 7,752 shareholders of PLD Bank who had to chose 15 members from the pool of 45 candidates, BJP won 14 seats while Congress managed to win only one seat.
Sunil Biliya Naik, Navneet Ganesh Naik, Eshwar Narayana Naik, Santosh Madev Naik, Manjunath Durgappa Naik, Manjappa Madev Naik, Suresh Jattayya Naik, Erappa Manjappa Naik, Harish Venkatesh Naik, Mohan Korgappa Naik, Manju Moger, Nagayya Masti Gonda, Kamala Ramchandra Naik, Gayatri Vijaykumar Naik and Eshwar Manjunath Naik were elected as Directors of PLD Bank.
Janata bank reported about 48% of polling of 6,553 voters who had to chose 13 directors for the bank
On the other hand, about 48% of votes were casted among 6,553 share holders of Janata Bank where they had to choose 13 directors of the bank. Congress secured 12 seats while BJP could manage one.
Mankal S Vaidya, Timmanna Jatta Naik, Krishnanand Prabhakar Pai, Parameshwar Narayan Devadiga, Pareshwara Honnappa Naik, Krishna Nagappa Naik,Baburai Chandrakanth Kubal, Venkataramana Annappa Moger,Goida Mangala Gonda, Timappa Jatta Naik, Nagappa Pomma Naik, Geeta Narayana Naik and Lakshmi Madev Naik were elected as the Directors of Janata Co-operative Bank.
Minor clashes were reported between the two parties was also reported during the election but adequate deployment of police and security arrangements made sure that no untoward incident was reported.
DySP of Bhatkal Valentine D’souza, CPI KL Ganesh, and other police personnel were present to supervise security arrangements duing the election.
