Mankal Vaidya rebukes government officials

23rd June 2013 / Rizwan Ganguly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In KDP's half-yearly meet, Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya advised government officials to work with integrity and stressed particularly to resolve issues faced by public. In relation to water facility, he mentioned that as per the submitted report Rs 5 crores has been spent on improving water facilities but as of yet there is no visible improvement on it and it appears as if all the money has been wasted. He also went angry on officials in relation to facilities provided to the disadvantaged and complained on money not being spent sufficiently on them. Referring to government hospital members, he said that he has received complaints from the public that they are charging patients for surgical operations and various other treatments. He admonished them that if any such complaint will be received in the future, then, strict action will be taken against errant officials. On this occasion, he instructed educational officials to avoid any lapse in scholastic activities. Students should be promptly provided uniforms, food, and other necessary items and their progress should be monitored. If the teachers are found incapable, then, stringent measures should be taken against them by initiating their transfer orders. Talking to forest officials, he said that lately there has been an increase in the number of forest officials for providing forest-related information and for numerous other tasks but the work done by them is unsatisfactory. In relation to unregistered (atikaram) land, he apprised forest department officials that they do not have any right to displace anyone possessing residential certificate. He also expressed grief on slow processing of ration card applications and advised to install generators at related centres to accelerate the processing if power-cuts are causing any delays. On this occasion, Taluka Panchayat President Shanti Sukarmane, Vice President Madhukar Sabhumane, Jinappa Moily, Taluka Panchayat President Albret D'costa, Jayshree Moger, KDP President Shripad Kamat, and other persons were present.
