Mankal Vaidya inaugurates "Anna Bhagya Scheme" in Bhatkal

21st July 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Member of Legislative Assembly for Bhatkal constituency Mankal Vaidya inaugurated yesterday the "Anna Bhagya Scheme" that provides rice for BPL card holders at the rate of Re.1 per kg. Speaking at the function, Mr. Vaidya said that the scheme has been implemented by the Congress government keeping in mind the needs of the poor people. Hence, any lapse by officials in implementing it will be dealt with strictly and tight action will be taken against them. Taluka panchayat Vice-President Madhukar Sabumane, Kaikini gram panchayat VP Manjulasa also expressed their thoughts on this occasion. Tahsildar In-charge Abdul Ghani, Ishwar Naik, taluka panchayat officer Chinnappa Moily and other people took part in the function. The Anna Bhagya Scheme of the State and Food Security Bill proposed by the Centre were bold initiatives that would provide the much needed social security to marginalised people.
