Bhatkal 20 February 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal-Honnavar Ex-MLA, Mankal Vaidya on Tuesday visited people who against NH 66 widening at Shirali, and accused Union Minister and BJP MP, Anant Kumar Hegde and MLA Sunil Naik for allegedly propagating lies about widening of National highway to the residents, here at Shirali of Bhatkal Taluka.
Addressing the public ex-MLA Vaidya, said “Anant Kumar Hegde and Sunil Naik have no interest in widening the National Highway to 45 meters here. They are just luring the people to gain political mileage in the upcoming general elections. As a cabinet minister, Hegde has the right to take decisions in his constituency, he need not write letter to another union minister for the approval of widening road”
“If the MLA is resolute, he can get any kind of work done in his constituency, there is nothing an MLA cannot do. When I was the MLA, I granted funds for various developmental works in the constituency, then, they made fun of my cut-outs regarding sanction of fund. Now the MLA is busy in inaugurating the same projects” Vaidya added.
A few BJP workers opposed the words of Vaidya and interrupted him, adding that they were not protesting with any political agenda and hence there was no need to politicize the issue.
Vaidya in return, replied that he understands the problems of people of Shirali with regards to the NH widening issue, and that he was there to extend his complete support to the residents of Shirali.
