Mankal Vaidya crowned BCL Champion

Bhatkal - 29 May 2011: Mankal Vaidya defeated Storm Riders by 17 runs in the final of Bhatkal Cricket League (BCL) which was being played here at Kola Grounds, Jali Road, Bhatkal.

Mankal Vaidya put up 166 runs on board after electing to bat first. In reply, Storm Riders managed to get only 148 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The winners, Mankal Vaidya received BCL Trophy and a cash reward of 49,000/- rupees while the runners up Storm Riders received Rs 29,000/- and a trophy. Best Bowler award went to Mohammed Mubeen from Marhaba Champs and Best Batsman award was presented to Mankal Vaidya's Umesh. Nasrullah Askeri of Marhaba Champs was awarded with Player of the Tournament award while Nufail Hallare from Mankal Vaidya was adjudged Man of the Match. Performer of the Day was awarded to Storm Riders' Mohammed Raihan M J.

Toal 8 teams from Bhatkal have participated in this T20 tournament.

The closing ceremony was attended by galaxy of eminent personalities including BMYF President Moulana Ansar Madani, Bhatkal DSP Mr M Narayan, President TMC Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Mr Abdul Raqeeb M J, Mr S M Syed Parvez, Mr Mankal Vaidya, Mr Ateeq Rahman Muniri and Mr Imtiyaz Udyawar.
