Mangaluru: Youth arrested for misusing picture of a girl on Facebook in a way to spread communal hatred

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Ismail Zaorez Mangaluru 15 Jan 2018: Mangaluru City Police on Sunday arrested Harish Devadiga for allegedly using a picture of a girl and circulating it on social media platform Facebook in a way to instill hatred among different communities. Harish has been identified as the resident of Beltangady and was arrested at the pumpwell locality of the city. The girl Madhuri Bolar, Secretary of Student's Federation of India (SFI) had filed a complaint against Harish for circulating her picture and demeaning her on Facebook. The picture shows Madhuri in the company of her male friend Hamza of another community and the description of the picture on Facebook reads 'We should teach him a lesson for hanging out with an Hindu girl'. Madhuri in her statement said 'The picture was taken when the SFI members were on a work related tour but these guys have misused it to target Hamza and her, she also clarified that the picture is one year old where Suhas Adiga and Ganesh Bolar can also be seen but the target of these guys is me and Hamza. A case has been registered and the Mobile Phone of Harish has been confiscated while more arrests in this case are expected.
