Mangaluru: Vehicle owners protest against delay in registration of vehicles

Bhatkallys News Bureau// Wafa Kifa Mangaluru 28 March 2018: The owners and dealers of vehicles staged a protest against pending online registration of around 2000 vehicles, the protest was carried out at the premises of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Tuesday, March 27. Protesters demanded an immediate solution and assurance to the pending registration of online vehicles which are getting delayed due to the inappropriate arrangements or an alternative for the update of online software from 'Vahan-3' to 'Vahan-4'. RTO G S Hegde assured the protesters saying that the department is aware of the problems of vehicle ownersand that they will make necessary arrangements till the upgradation process gets completed as it may take some more time to migrate the process from old to new software. The protesters withdrew their protest after the assurance from officer, putting forward their warning to stage a massive protest if RTO fails to fulfill their demands on time.
