Mangaluru: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader remarked that congress led government in the state is well governed by CM Siddaramiah with the support of positive remarks from citizens here by maintaining people-friendly schemes. "We hope to gain victory over all 8 constituencies in forth coming elections. While BJP is trying hard to gain sympathy over the people of state here by popping out the cow issue". Minister was talking over similar issues at a press conference held at the District Congress Office on Monday, April 9. Minister questioned BJP government that if they are so much concerned about cows slaughtering issue then why they are just trying to impose ban on it here in DK by leaving behind the state like Goa and Tripura. He further said if they are too much concerned on the issue, let them ban it across the nation. By allowing Goa, Tripura and other BJP ruled states to consume beef why are these BJP leaders forcing the ban on beef in Dakshina Kannada?”, he questioned. When asked about Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s statement, “The Temples where U T Khader has visited should be purified”, Khader said, " Those who do not know the culture of this country give such statements. If Prabhakar Bhat has the knowledge of the culture and tradition of this country he would not have commented like that. I know how to respect people from other faith because since my childhood my parents have taught me to treat everyone equally.” District Congress president Harish Kumar, Mamatha Gatti, Sadashiva Ullal and many others were present during the press meet.
