Mangaluru: Two more arrested in fake degree racket

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Wafa Kifa Mangaluru: Two more accused who were absconding in recently unearthed fake certificate racket case of Manipal Institute of Technology Science (MITS) were nabbed by a CCB police team on March 18, Sunday. The accused are identified as Askan Shaikh (25), Director of MITS and Asraruddin(26), from Thokkuttu. Earlier on March 14, CCB police had arrested Godwin D'Souza, an employee of MITS in the racket and had seized laptops, phone and a printer from the institution. MITS Director Askan Shaikh used to issue fake certificate of various courses to unemployed people such as SSLC, PU, Diploma etc charging it from Rs10,000 to Rs40,000. The accused have been handed over to Ullal Police Station for further investigation and two more mobile phones have been seized from them. The operation was carried out successfully by CCB Inspector Shantaram, PSI Shyam Sundar and a team following the direction of Commissioner T R Suresh along with the guidance of DCP Law & Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime & Traffic Uma Prashanth.
