Mangaluru: RTI activist dies after slipping into Nethravati river

Bantwal: In an tragic incident, an active RTI Activist drowned and died in Nethravati river on Saturday, March 24. The deceased has been identified as Sharath (48), from Marnabail. He was an active member of Raitha Hasiru Sangha. According to the sources, Sharath went to Nandavara Temple to take a holy dip into the water on early morning. But as he stepped into the river, he slipped and drowned and died on the spot. However, local swimmers rescued his body out. A case has been registered at Bantwal Police Station.
