Bhatkallys News Bureau/ I. Zaorez Shabab Mangaluru 04 Nov 2017: In a press conference organized at Press Club Mangaluru former Congress leader Harikrishna Bantwal slammed Dakshin Kannada district in-charge minister for illegally acquiring lands in Bantwal constituency using fake identity documents. While also calling for the investigation in the matter either by Anti-Corruption Bureau or district administration. While dodging a question of why he didn't speak up against Rai, Bantwal claimed he has been receiving life threats from his former party-men for speaking against Rai and said "I have realized, being quite is not going to help me, Rai acquired 2.04 acres of government land under survey no. 20/2 in Mani village and one acre under surveyNo. 38/2 wrongly sanctioned for himself.  Rai has annexed a total of 3.04 acres illegally violating the law in the name of his Spouse. In the sanction letter too, the beneficiary's name has been mentioned as Shaila R Rai at one place and Dhanabhagya R Rai in another, with the tacit aim of cheating the government," he alleged. To prove his allegations expelled congressman presented a few documents while further adding, " As a responsible statesman while also holding a government position, involving oneself in such activities to fool government with fake identity documents was not a good move, hence I urge him to surrender the land back to the rightful owners".
