Mangaluru police launches crackdown on Ganja peddlers, several raids and arrests made this week, in a latest raid a 18 year old who grow Ganja in flower pots arrested

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ I. Zaorez Shabab Mangaluru 09 Nov 2017: Joshua D'Souza an 18 year old youth was on Thursday arrested by Economic and Narcotics crime department's sleuths in Mannur locality. Working on a tip off, a team of Economic and Narcotics crime department led by Inspector Muhammad Shariff, raided the house of D'Souza and recovered over 70 grams of Ganja plants which was being grown in flower pots along with over 450 grams of ganja seeds from the house. The Economic and Narcotics crime department team is further interrogating D'Souza in to the case. It is to be noted that the city police has launched a crackdown on the Drug peddlers in the city and the raid comes only a day after a team of Anti-Rowdy squad led by Inspector Ravish Nayak raided a cement warehouse and located a 12 ft. tall Ganja plant at Bangrakuloor village on the outskirts of the city. As per the reports the Mangaluru Rural police on Wednesday also arrested two youths Prajwal (19), and  Deepak (21) both residents of Kunjathbail, who were allegedly peddling ganja to students near Karavali College at Vamanjoor, over 30 grams of Ganja was recovered from the duo. In another case on November 6, the same team of Economic and Narcotics crime department, led by Muhammad Shariff, busted around 3.25 kg of Ganja from two bikers from Thokottu, the team is also interrogating the duo in the case. According to the official sources Mangaluru Police Commissioner TR Suresh is personally supervising the crackdown against Ganja Peddlers and has instructed officers to take stringent actions against the culprits.
