Mangaluru: Permanent free health check up kiosks at nine locations soon

Mangaluru 12 March 2018: The department of health and family welfare is all set to open kiosks at Nine different location across the city that will help citizens to get their health check up done for free of cost.
The initiative for this was put forth by Minister for food, civil supplies and consumer affairs U T Khader during his tenure as health minister.
Initially, junior women health assistants will be deputed to provide services, and permanent doctors will be appointed once tie-ups are established with private medical colleges. Pregnancy test, pregnancy care, post-natal care, immunization, intrauterine contraceptive device insertion, malnutrition check-up, analysis of blood and urine for detection of various diseases and health awareness are the major services planned to be provided through the kiosks. Each kiosks cost around 4.5lacs.
This health kiosks will be more benefited to the poor especially coolies, auto drivers etc.
