Mangaluru: Opposition launches attack on Mayor Kavita Sanil to clarify on her educational qualification

Mangaluru 01 March 2018: BJP attacked Mayor Kavita Sanil demanding clarity on her qualification at the eve of Mangaluru City Corporation(MCC) general meeting on Wednesday, February 28.
Ganesh Hosaabettu, opposition leader waved the affidavit copy of Mayor Kavita which was submitted by her at the time of her appointment as Mayor and said that as per the affidavit, the qualification is mentioned as PUC passed through correspondence, and said "but the mayor describe herself as a graduate". He added, there are doubt about the mayor's qualification and hence it needs to be clarified.
Upon this attack, Congress Corporators came to the mayor's rescue and claimed that the opposition was attacking her on personal issues rather than concentrating on issues relating to general public.
Mayor replied to the situation saying that she has all her documents pertaining to her education. She further said, council is not a place to discuss her personal matters rather than discussing issues of the people. Upon her satisfactory remark, opposition withdrew the issue.
As her tenure is about to end, In her thanksgiving speech Kavita thanked district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai for his guidance and support . She also thanked Corporators of her party for their warm welcome in realizing her dream for the city's development. She thanked media for acting as a bridge between her and people. She said, earlier she was in social service before getting the post of Mayor. She further said that she will remain same as active social worker as she loves to serve the people.
