Mangaluru: Mohiuddin Bava's brother Mamthaz Ali missing; car found in accident condition

Mangaluru, Oct 6: The car of Mamthaz Ali, brother of former MLA Mohiuddin Bava, was found in an accident condition on the Kuloor bridge on Sunday, October 6. He has been reported missing.

The incident came to light on Sunday morning, and fire and rescue teams along with swimming experts began searching the river, while senior police officers initiated an active investigation on the spot.

Mamthaz Ali reportedly sent a message to his daughter via WhatsApp saying, "I will not return," raising concerns.

He is the chairman of the Misbah Group of Educational Institutions and a key figure in the local Jamaat. Former MLA Mohiuddin Bava and family members were present at the scene. Further information is awaited.

Meanwhile, on the incident, city police commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated, "Today early morning we received information that a businessman Mumthaz Ali's vehicle was found near Kulur bridge. He might have jumped from the bridge. Local police reached the spot and started the investigation. As per the preliminary investigation, around 3 o'clock, he left the house in his car and roamed around the city and around 5 o'clock he stopped his car near the Kulur bridge. The car had certain accidental marks and then after that, his daughter informed the local police. Investigation is underway. SDRF and Coast Guard teams are searching the river and trying to find out whether he has jumped in the river or anybody is there or not."
