Mangaluru man held in Bhatkal for circulating fake foreign currency

Bhatkal: 26 July,2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  A man from Mangaluru has been arrested by Bhatkal Police on charges of circulating counterfeit foreign currency in the coastal town. The accused, identified as Ravin Prakash, was taken into custody from Bundar Road in Bhatkal.

According to the police, during the arrest, officials seized a car, a mobile phone, and 17 counterfeit notes of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dirhams in denominations of 1000, 500, and 100.

Ravin Prakash was produced before the Bhatkal court and has been remanded to judicial custody for two days.

Police are continuing their investigation to find out the source of the fake currency and whether more people are involved in the racket.
