Mangaluru International Airport get cleanest Airport of India award

Mangaluru 01 April 2018: Mangalore International Airport is judged as the cleanest airport in a survey conducted by Airport Authority of India (AAI) across the nation in small airports category.
The survey was conducted as a part of 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' in 53 small airports. An Official confirmation was relayed by AAI to the Mangaluru International Airport. V V Rao, director of airport is to receive award on April 1 in New Delhi on the occasion of 23rd Anniversary celebrations of AAI.
A month ago, AAI Officials visited Mangaluru International Airport and inspected the cleanliness giving grades accordingly to each sectors including toilet, parking area, commercial shops, airport terminal, customer lounge and also road connectivity. MIA bagged highest points in the survey and stood first while Thiruvananthapuram bagged second place in the survey.
The responsibility of maintaining cleanliness of MIA is handled by Durga Facility Management Company from last seven years. Every day more than 50 aircrafts land and take off from this airport and 17.5lac passengers pass through the airport every year.
