Mangaluru: Four attacked on open road with swords; One seriously injured

Zaorez Shabab Mangaluru 19 Dec 2017: Four people were attacked on open road with machete and swords on the night of Monday 18 December near Harsha Bar at Rao and Rao circle, in the city. The four injured have been identified as Anees, Hafiz, and Shafiq while the fourth person's identity is not known, it was later revealed the person was the owner of a Pan shop located near crime scene and that he was a victim collateral damage during the incident. However his name and other details were not available by Tuesday morning. The incident took place when a group of people arrived at the crime scene on a car and started attacking Shafiq (45), meanwhile Anees, who is the friend of Shafiq was passing through the area co-incidentally and looking at the fight, he tried to save Shafiq. After his intervention the accused went into the car and got their weapons including Machete and Swords and attacked both of them. Hafiz who was accompanying Anees also became the victim as the accused also attacked him. The victims were rushed to a private hospital, where Shafiq is said to in critical condition due to the severe injuries on his body, while the other three received minor injuries. The identities or whereabouts of the attackers was not known yet as Pandeshwar Police is further investigating the case. A case has been registered at Pandeshwar Police Station.
