Mangaluru: Deputy Mayor demands Anant Kumar's resignation over 'Stray Dogs' remark

Mangaluru 23 Jan 2018: Rajaneesh Kapikad, deputy mayor on Monday, Jan 22 in a press meet held here at the District Congress Office demanded the resignation of Union Minister for Skill and Development, Anant Kumar Hedge for his latest comment on Dalits referring them as 'Stray Dogs'.
Addressing the media persons, Rajaneesh said, "Earlier hegde had come up with the topic of changing Constitution as they are in the power and recently he called Dalits as 'Stray Dogs'. But to an amazement neither PM Modi nor Amit Shah has reacted to the comment. This itself shows how concern they are towards Dalits'. Surprisingly, Hegde too did not apologize for his comment."
He further said that Anant Kumar Hedge should resign from his post. If failed, they would hold a protest against Mr. Hegde.
Rajaneesh then praised the Congress Government for their support through various schemes assigned for the welfare of the Dalits.
Congress leader Vishwasdas, Spokesperson Vinayraj, Corporator Nagaveni and many others were present.
