Mangaluru CCB and Narcotics department arrests eight students selling Ganja to other students

Mangaluru 14 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The City crime branch (CCB), Economic offence and personnel of Narcotics department on Sunday arrested eight Kerala based students in a joint operation, while they were selling Ganja to other college students here at Mangaluru. The detained have been identified as Akshay Prasad (22) of Kottarajere, Jaffer (22), Nimil (21), Amit Srivastava (21), Ashwin (22) ann Akshay (22) from Kannur, Mohd Ameer (22) from Kozikode, Akash Nair (22) from Pattanathittam. All the accused were residing at Mangaluru for education. It has been gathered that seven among the detained are Engineering students and one was a student of Physiotherapy. The officials busted the operation near Morgans gate based on a tip-off as they were selling Ganja to other students there. Two bikes, eight cell phones and 500 grams of Ganja worth Rs.12,000/- were seized during the operation. Police said the accused used to purchase Ganja from Kerala and peddle it to Mangaluru to sell it to other students here. CCB inspector Shantharam, economic and narcotic crime inspector Ramakrishna, CCB PSI Kabbal Raj and other staffs were part of the operation. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
