Mangalore: Woman gang-raped by 7 men at beach, 6 arrested

In a shocking case reported from Mangalore, Karnataka, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven men at a beach.
According to sources, the woman went to the beach with her friend. The police have arrested six accused men in the case including two minors. The incident happened at Thota Bengre.
According to sources, the woman went at the beach with her friend. The accused spotted them and initiated a conversation which later turned into a heated argument. The accused began beating the boy and later, they gang-raped the woman. The survivor woman has lodged a complaint in Mangalore women's police station.
According to a report in the Times of India, the city police commissioner TR Suresh said that the incident took place a week ago. However, the police officials were able to convince the woman to record her official statement by Monday night.
However, the police investigation is still underway. Reportedly, all six of the arrested men are fishermen. Uma Prashanth, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Crime and traffic) confirmed to TOI that a case has been registered.
