Mangalore: Passenger nabbed at airport with 12 gold chains

Mangalore, Jun 8: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials on Saturday June 8 intercepted and nabbed a passenger at Mangalore International Airport for smuggling gold from Dubai. The arrested is identified as Sanaulla (48), resident of Bhatkal. The DRI officials seized 12 gold chains weighing 200 grams, altogether worth Rs 5 lac. As per the information obtained, Sanaulla arrived at Bajpe airport from Dubai by Jet Airways flight at 7.40 am. It is said that Sanaulla was trying to escape with his hands full of gold chains hidden under full sleeves shirt. The police on inspection detected the ornaments and seized them.
