Bhatkal - 11 July 2011: The tri-weekly Mumbai CST - Mangalore Express Train (No.12133/12134) which was recently converted into daily train with effect from 02 July 2011 is not stopping at Bhatkal despite large number of passengers traveling daily to Mumbai from here. The train has only 12 stops as compared to Matsyagandha (22) and it cut-short the travel time by nearly 2 hours. It stops at Byndoor station which is around 20 km from Bhatkal and its next stop is at Kumta.

If train halts at Bhatkal Railway Station, it will be very useful for the people of Bhatkal especially students and businessman traveling to Mumbai and Northern states in reaching their destination very fast and it will also generate more revenues to Railway department as Bhatkal is one of the busiest Station in coastal Karnataka.
