Mangalore | Moral policing: Man stripped, beaten allegedly by right-wing activists

In an act of moral policing, a Muslim man was allegedly stripped, tied to electric pole and thrashed by hindu rightwingactivists in Mangalore for travelling with agirl hailing from a different religion. According to reports, when the 29-year-old man was going in a car with his Hindu colleague, few men forced him to stop the car and dragged him out. They thrashed and stripped him and later circulated the images on WhatsApp. The victim and the girl both work in the supermarket located in Attavar. The man is a manager in a mall and the girl is an employee there.   Incidentally, the girl managed to escape, but she was also humiliated when she tried to intervene. The police arrived at the spot when the visuals were flashed on local cable channels and rescued the victim. Several people have been detained for questioning. The victim has alleged in his complaint that the group assaulted him for being seen with the girl.   DNA
