Mandya: 14 year old girl kills herself fearing punishment by her teacher

Bhatkallys New Bureau/ Ismail Zaorez Mandya 27 Jan 2018: A 14 year old girl student committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling in the school campus on Wednesday Jan 24. The student has been identified as Zaibunnisa of Shivamoga, d/o Mohammed Ibrahim and a student of Navodaya Minority Residential School of Mandya. As per the reports, Zaibunnisa committed suicide after she was reportedly scolded by a teacher NS Ravi for not performing well in the Republic day parade rehearsal and had allegedly warned her of punishment if she don't do well on Republic day. The family of Zaibunnisa and members of SDPI staged a protest and demanded immediate arrest of the teacher. Based on the complaint by the family a case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
