Man commits suicide on railway track near Gulmi Bridge

Bhatkal - 14 Jan 2012: A man identified as Surendra Ramu Naik (32) of Heggal village coming under Jali Panchayat limits committed suicide on railway track near Gulmi Bridge on Thursday night. According to sources, his mental condition was not stable. He left home in the evening on his bicycle and when he didn't return, his relatives started searching for him. His dead body was found near Gulmi Railway Bridge in the morning. It was believed that, he consumed sleeping pills and slept on the track and died after coming under train wheels. Pills, mobile phone and his bicycle were found near the track. Social worker, Nisar Ruknuddin with the help of local youths took the dead body which was in very bad condition to Govt Hospital where it was handed over to the relatives. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
