Man arrested for illegal sand transportation in Bhatkal's Gorte area

Bhatkal: 26 July,2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  Police in Bhatkal have arrested a man and seized a Tata Ace vehicle in connection with illegal sand transportation from the Gorte coastal area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Belke Gram Panchayat.

The arrested person has been identified as Ramesh Manjunath Naik, a 43-year-old resident of Gorte. During the operation, police confiscated 35 bags of sand being transported in the vehicle, valued at approximately ₹5,000.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station. The investigation is currently underway under the guidance of Circle Police Inspector Manjunath Lingareddy.
