Zaorez Shabab Madikeri 10 Nov 2017: The State governments decision to go ahead with Tipu Jayanti celebration despite facing severe opposition by the BJP and its allies has resulted in a large scale violence in the Kodagu district, a district which has been a anti-Tipu over the years for their allegations that the rulers had forcefully converted the regional Hindu to Islam. Several incidents of violence and protest were reported in Kodugu, where the protesters also pelted stones and damaged a bus owned by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). Across the Kodugu district, a martyr day was observed instead for Kuttappa, who died in Violence which erupted during the Tipu Jayanti protests in the district in 2016.
