Lovers attempt suicide after failing to convince families about their love; one dies another hospitalised

Manki 29 August 2019: Two young lovers on Wednesday afternoon attempted suicide near Railway Bridge by consuming poison after they failed to convince their families about their love affair, here in Manki. The victims have been identified as Gagan Naik (26) and Sangeetha Naik (22) both residents of Murdeshwar. After the duo attempted suicide by consuming poison, the locals who noticed the incident, rushed both of them to hospital where Gagan breathed his last while Sangeetha is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Manipal. According to the reports both Gagan and Sangeetha were in love and were facing opposition from their respective families triggering them to take the extreme step. A case has been registered at Manki Police station.
