Bhatkal 17 April 2018 (Bhatkallys News Bureau): As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced Sunil Naik as the party candidate from Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency for the upcoming Karanataka Assembly Elections, Ex-Congress MLA from Bhatkal JD Naik who joined BJP last year, said he did not join the BJP in a bid to get ticket from the party but due to some conflict of interest and ideas with the congress party.
The two time MLA further added "My name for the seat was recommended to the party high command by various sources who believed in me and my work that I did during my tenure as the MLA, I was assured by my sources about the ticket, but at the last minute the decision was turned into the favor of Sunil Naik, that was quite disappointing to me as an individual".
“I am still a part of BJP and I have no plans whatsoever to contest the election as an independent candidate at this moment" said the ex-MLA.
He also added that he has already started receiving calls from other political parties with offers to join them but he is yet to make a decision, he said he will also hear from his supporters before taking any decision as they have been a great strength for him over the years.
"Wherever I go, I am being suppressed and competed within the party, I haven't done anything wrong or I' am not against anyone in the party, I have been faithful party loyalist even when I was in Congress I was loyal to them, if this continues I might have to take some decision in near future" he added when asked about switching to other party from BJP.
