Lokayukta raids in Karnataka send jitters to corrupt officials

Bangalore: The simultaneous Lokayukta raids at various places including Udupi, Bangalore, Mandya, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada and Koppala districts, have sent shivers down the spines of corrupt officials. So far there have been raids on the residences of ten  government officials leading to unearthing of huge quantity of disproportionate assets. There have been raids on the residence of BDA surveyor Narendra Kumar at Sahakaranagar in Bangalore and BBMP Revenue  Officer Prasanna Kumar’s HSR Layout residence. Raids have also been carried out on the residence of Dr VN Nandish, Head of the Department of Surgery of a college in Mandya. The raids have been led by Lokayukta DySP P Girijesh. In Tumkur Lokayukta officials  led by SP Sharath Chandra has raided the residence of M Umesh, Secretary of The Kondli Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha. A building at Vidyanagar and two houses in Gatti layout have also been raided. The residence of Moodalagiriappa, Project officer of Nirmithi Kendra of Chitradurga  and that of Anthony Kunjinath, Bescom Junior Engineer of Siddapur taluk have been raided under the leadership of SP Chandrashekhar. In Kundapur of Udupi district, the Beejadi residence of Narayana Kharvi, the Assistant Executive Engineer of Ports Department has been raided. In Koppala the PWD AEE Basavaraj Bandivadkar’s residence and office too have been raided.   News Karnataka
