Lokayukta raids Bhatkal Tahsildar office; 1 arrested

Bhatkal - 04 Nov 2011: Lokayukta team conducted a raid at Bhatkal Tahsildar office yesterday afternoon and arrested one person while he was taking bribe. The arrested officer was identified as Shambu Ganapati Hegde. According to the Lokayukta sources, on 19th Oct 2011, a person named Suresh went to Tahsildar office to get NOC to sell his land. Officer demanded 1500 rupees to issue a NOC. He gave 600 rupees and promised to give remaining 900 next day. He approached Lokayukta police and acting on his complaint, Lokayukta conducted raid at Tahsildar office next day and arrested the officer red handed with 900 rupees bribe money.

Lokayukta SP, DySP Mr Mahesh Megan, Inspector Ravi Kumar and others were participated in the raid.
