Locals protest death of a teenager in Bhatkal government hospital; allege doctor negligence

Bhatkal 19 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Family of a 14 year old boy who died early on Wednesday, protested against the duty doctor of Bhatkal government hospital alleging Medical Negligence and blaming him for the death of the teenager, here on Wednesday October 17.
The boy, Chandrakanth (14) was brought to the hospital on Tuesday evening after he fell down from the first floor of his neighbor's house where he had been to collect his cricket ball, and was sent home along with his parents after providing adequate treatment at the government hospital for his head injury.
Chandrakanth who doing well by night, slept only to wake up at 3. am and reported discomfort after vomiting, he however breathed his last at around 6. am in the morning at his residence.
Irked family members and activists took the body to the Bhatkal government hospital and started protesting against the doctor Dinkar, who was not available on duty. The protesters were resolute about not leaving the premises of the hospital before the doctor arrive at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police security at the hospital was beefed up at the hospital. Dr Dinkar arrived at the hospital around 2.pm and while speaking to the family members in the presence of police and denied allegations of negligence while admitting that he condole the death of the teenager.
He then apologised to the family of the deceased after which the family left the hospital premises with the body of Chandrakanth.
