Lightning injures two persons, kills one animal in Gorde region of Bhatkal

26th May 2013 / Rizwan Gangavali / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal - A cow has been killed and two persons have been injured due to lightning strike at Gorde region in Bhatkal. Injured persons have been identified as Subhaya Rama Naik (40) and his wife Nagratna Subhaya Naik (30). According to sources, they went out of the house at 1:00 am in the night to get the cattle in when a lightning struck nearby. As a consequence, a cow got killed instantly on the spot and these two suffered injuries. Apart from that, an electric switch and a meter also got damaged and collapsed due to it. Both the injured were taken to the government hospital in Bhatkal in the night itself and provided treatment. It should be borne in mind that there was heavy rainfall accompanied with lightning yesterday in Bhatkal due to which residents of Bhatkal got relief from the scorching heat but they were disturbed because of electricity cuts.
