"Let people repair their homes on encroached lands" MLA Sunil Naik urges forest department

Bhatkal 28 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) "Strict actions will be initiated against doctors at Government hospital, if they fail to perform their duty effectively and efficiently” Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik in the KDP meeting warned doctors of Bhatkal Taluka Government Hospital at Taluka Panchayath office here on Thursday. Sunil Naik added “The Nurses at Government hospital leave 4.00 pm earlier than their scheduled time, and later go to some other private hospitals and work there. The Taluka health department and doctors of the hospitals has to look into this, and serious actions should be initiated against those staffs. Failing which concern department officials will be liable for penalties in future” he added. He urged the staffs of government hospital to work to be honest and responsible towards their job, and also asked them to identify all the flaws in works and operations effectively and to bring it into his notice. Sunil later urged the forest department to let the people at least to repair their homes at encroached lands belonging to forest department where the families have been residing for several years. Responding to the MLA, the forest official Shankar Gowda said, “We don’t have any problem about people repairing their houses at encroached land. The problems begin when we receive phone calls complaining about the repair works, by locals, that where we can't help and we are bound to initiated action" he added. Later in the meeting Sunil Naik questioned the KSRTC depot manager about the progress of mini bus' proposal for people travelling towards Mundalli. Sunil Naik further suggested the fisheries department to send notice and seize the boats coming from Tamil Nadu here for fishing. And also asked them to identify and restrict those who are getting subsidized kerosene although they don't own a boat. Later in the meeting Sunil enquired about the working progress and utilization of funds provided to various departments. Zilla Panchayath President Jayashree Moger, ZP Member Albert D’costa, Taluka Panchayat President Eshwar Naik, Vice president Radha Vaidya, Vishnu Devadiga, officials of various department were present during the meeting.
