Legal awareness drive organized by Bar Association in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 11 July 2018: The Chief Civil judge and JMFC Krishnaraj K, inagurated the 'Sanchari Bruhat loka Adalat' a legal awareness campaign by the Bar Association for the public at Taluka Government Hospital of Bhatkal.
Speaking on the occasion Krishnaraj said, there is a need to create awareness among people about the laws and their responsibilities and also about their limits, and when the crossing of limits can prove to be costly for them and they can end up in jail or paying penalty.
He also spoke about women safety, and said we have to take responsibility of protecting the rights of women and ensuring that they get equal opportunities everywhere.
The meet was chaired by Lawyer's union president Kamalakar Bairumane. While the guest of the event was Taluka's health officer Dr.Murthiraj Bhat who while addressing the event said, "We see alot of gender inequality these days, families also prefer male child over girl child, we should come over these mentalities". Speaking of the stats he added "There are about 975 females for every 1000 males in Uttara Kannada District and such mentalities will only worsen the case further".
Senior Advocate R.R.Shersti also addressed the event and said that laws are as important to people as Air, water, and food are and without laws people cannot live with peace, he added.
Erayya Devadiga welcomed the guest and attendees at the event while JT Naik presented vote of thanks before concluding the event.
