Legal Awareness and Lok Adalat program held in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 17 Dec 2011: A program on Legal awareness and Lok Adalat was held here at Taluka Panchayat office on the occasion of arrival of Lok Adalat Rath in Bhatkal.

Taluka Panchayat President, Mr Pashunath Jain delivered welcome speech while Advocate Bomai presided over the function.

In his presidential address, Mr Bomai said, 'In our country legal awareness among general public is very important as it helps fight against atrocities.' He appealed people to take advantage of such programs as this kind of awareness programs boost confidence. He also provided the details about the RTI act which was passed in the year 2005. He said that the awareness about our rights and duties play an important role in the development of society.

Bhatkal Tahsildar, Dr Madhkeshwar Naik said, 'Law awareness helps correct our mistakes.'

Bhatkal MLA Mr J D Naik spoke on birth and death certificates and provided very useful information regarding this.

Taluka Panchayat Standing Committee President, Mr Madhukar Sobumane, Jaishree Naik and others were present on the stage.
