Labbaik Navayat Association honors Moulana Ilyas Nadvi

Bhatkal - Labbaik Navayath Association yesterday organized a felicitation program and honored Moulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi in recognition of his distinguished services towards spreading Islamic knowledge and his contribution to Urdu literature. On this occasion a Naat competition was also held between contestants from various sports centers of Bhatkal, Murdeshwar and Manki. The program was graced by prominent ulemas and luminaries from Bhatkal and Bangalore including Hazrat Moulana Riyazur Rahman Rashadi, Khateeb Bangalore City Jama Masjid and Founder of Jamiul Uloom Bangalore, Mr J Shafiullah Sahab, Joint Secretary of Al-Ameen Educational Trust and Managing Trustee Salar Bangalore, Mr Hamid Mohsin, Chairman Salam Center Bangalore, Moulana Maqsood Imran.
The program was started at 9:00 pm with the Qir'aat of Abdul Rasheed Shahzad followed by its translation. Later Hamd, Naat and Trana of labbaik, were rendered respectively. Mr Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin greeted the guests and audience and presented a brief introduction of guests. After this, Naat competition began wherein 13 contestants rendered their selected Naats one after the other leaving the audience spellbound.
After completion of Naat competition, main part of the program that is felicitation ceremony was held wherein Bhatkal Qazi Moulana Iqbal Mulla felicitated Moulana Ilyas Nadvi by putting black turban on his head followed by Moulana Riyazur Rahman Rashadi presenting a Sipasnama and several other local organizations also presented Sipasnama and memento to Moulana Ilyas Sahab. Later program convener Mr Altaf Kharuri read the Sipasnama of Labbaik Navayat whereas Moulana Maqsood Imran read the Sipasnama of Jamiul Uloom.
On this occasion while expressing his feelings, Moulana Ilyas Nadvi became emotional and with tears in his eyes thanked Almighty Allah for this honor and said, "I am not eligible for this, there are many other people who are silently working without any publicity. Despite this, people of Bhatkal has chosen me for this honor, I am scared about Almighty Allah denying me any reward in Akhira if I keep on accepting awards in my lifetime." He has donated his award to his Mother Institution, Jamia Islamia and handed over it to its Administrator, Master Shafi Patel Sahab.
Hazrat Moulana Riyazur Rahman Sahab Rashadi also spoke on this occasion. In his speech he praised the work of Moulana Ilyas Nadvi and congratulated Labbaik Navayat for hosting such a wonderful event. Quoting several verses from holy Quran he said, "Awarding gifts is Allah's Sunnah, so we should not reject any gifts". Later Mr Shafiullah Sahab and Mr Hamid Mohsin Sahab also expressed their views.

First Position: Jafer Sadiq Kundanguda
Second Position: Izuddin Atif Qazi, Hafiz Mohammed Anees Buddu (Joint Winners)
Third Position: Mohammed Hamdan
Mr Abdullah Damudi, Mr Ashraf Barmavar and Mr Abdul Rawoof Savanur have discharged their duties as Competition Judges.
The program was presided over by Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi, Khateeb Jama Masjid Bhatkal and it was brilliantly executed by Dr Mohammed Haneef Shabab.
