Kundapur: AC, IAS officer attacked while raiding bar; two arrested

Kundapur 11 April 2018: In connection with attempt to assault the IAS Probationary Official and Assistant Commissioner (AC) while performing the election duty at late night, two people have been arrested on Monday, April 9.
Acting upon the public complaint about the illegal sale of liquor in the private hotel at Koteshwar, the team comprising of Excise DC Neeru Nandan, Kundapur AC Bhoobalan and many other officials along with IAS Probationary Officials visited the spot and started taking videography over there. Upon which the customers of hotel began objecting towards it which raised to the heated arguments. The owner of the hotel then tried to pull the AC's gunman and prevented them to discharge their duty. Immediately the officials’ informed to Kundapur Police who rushed to the spot and arrested Hotel owner Surendra Shetty and another customer Mahesh Acharaya.
The Kundapur Police have registered a criminal case under sections of Indian Penal Code, including 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty).
