Kumta: Woman dies after she stuck into 'Papad' making machine

Kumta 5 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A woman while ‘Papads’ at her residence died after getting struck  into the ‘papad’ making machine in Mirjan of Kumta taluk here on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Maalini Naik, a resident of Mirjan.

According to the sources, Maalini while stuffing the floor into the papad making machine was trapped and was later force pulled into the machine after it was turned on accidentally, killing Maalini on the spot.

Sources also added that Maalini purchased the machine a year back through the funds released by the Government after the death of her husband, and used to sell papads to a private company for her living.

The police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government hospital of Kumta.

A case has been registered at Kumta police station.
