Kumta road accident victim identified, body handed over to the family; says Police

Kumta 27 March 2018: In a reported case of Hit and Run, during the wee hours of Monday 27 March 2018, a pedestrain was killed on the spot after sustaining severe injuries on face and head.
The case was reported at around 3 am on Monday morning, when an unknown vehicle ran over a pedestrian at Mirjan cross of Kumta, resulting in the victim's death on the spot.
Due to severe face injuries the victim was identified only on Late Monday evening by the police with the help of local social workers and residents. The victim has been identified as Anu Kutian of Kerala who was a daily wage labourer.Speaking over the phone call Kumta ASI R.S Naik informed Bhatkallys.com "After the accident the body was shifted to Kumta Government Hospital, and upon identification the family of the victim in Kerala was informed who came to Kumta and took the body of the victim along with them after clearing all the formalities"
A case has been registered at Kumta Police Station and a team of Police is looking for the accused vehicle and driver. Naik added
