Kumta 20 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Investigations into the missing case of Vishveshwar Bhat, a chief priest of a Kambeshwar temple of Kumta led the investigating police team to his body that was buried in Koballi village.
Vishveshwar was reported missing by his wife on Wednesday morning after he did not return home since Tuesday evening when he left home with a man reportedly for conducting 'pooja' on the man's land.
As the case was reported, police got their hands on the mobile location and call records of Vishveshwar. The police also checked the cctv footage of cameras of the city to track the route of Vishveshwar and the suspected man. It was found in the cctv footage that the suspect had changed his bike from new old bus stand of city, and had taken Vishveshwar to Murur village.
Working on the leads the investigating team arrested two people from Sirsi in connection to the case, who during interrogation revealed that Vishveshwar was murdered and buried in Koballi village. The police team then recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
It is suspected that a conflict over a disputed land was the motive of the murder and that relatives of Vishveshwar hatched the conspiracy.
Police sources added that more arrests are expected in the case over next few days.
