Kumta: Bus carrying 56 Umrah pilgrims overturns; two seriously injured

Kumta 16 April 2018 (Bhatkallys News Bureau): Two people sustained severe injuries when a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims overturned as the driver lost his control over the wheels at NH-66 near APMC of Kumta here on Sunday late night.
Zubaida and Nabeda Khan have been identified severely injured and are currently being treated at a private hospital in Udupi.
The bus was reportedly carrying 56 Umrah pilgrim mainly from Shiroor, enroute to Goa international airport for the divine journey.
Other passengers also sustained minor injuries and were rushed to Kumta Government Hospital for initial treatment.
Members of Kumta Jamat Ul Muslimeen and Kumta Al-Ittihad Youth Committee, rendered commendable service, who rushed on the spot as soon as the news of the accident started doing rounds on social media platforms and took up the rescue work and shifted the victims to the hospital. Several local organization of Kumta also thanked the local youths for their support and prompt action at the accident spot, while they are also being lauded on several social media platforms.
A case has been registered at Kumta police station.
