KJP President Yeddiyurappa visits Bhatkal

Bhatkal – Karnataka Janata Party President and former Chief Minister, Mr B S Yeddiyurappa visited Bhatkal on 31st March 2013 and addressed his supporter who turned up in large number at a ground opposite to hotel TFC near Shamsuddin Circle.
Speaking on this occasion he said, ‘During my tenure as a CM, I always tried my best to maintain communal harmony in the state. The biggest proof of this is no communal violence when I was the CM.’
Declaring the ambitions of his newly formed party he said, ‘I am 71 year old now, I actually wanted to retire from politics but my friends and well wishers persuaded me to form a new party for the welfare of people and we don’t have any political objectives.’
Terming both Congress and BJP as anti-Muslim, he said that they are simply using Muslims for vote bank and when their job is done, they just dump them. He said we will not discriminate anyone on the basis of religion and caste, we are here to help people and provide peaceful governance.
He also pointed out various schemes which have been introduced during his government such as 108 Ambulance Service, Bhagyalakshmi Yojna, Ashraya Yojna etc from which many poor families and farmers are getting benefits.
Mr Khusro Qureshi, ex-chairman minority commission also interacted with the audience. He said, whenever there is any bomb blast in the country, media targets Bhatkal town without any proof. This is a deliberate attempt by section of media to malign the image of Bhatkal and its people. The central or state govt has not done anything in this regard. He further said that when Mr Yeddiyurappa was the CM, he tried to do something for the people of Bhatkal, but due to pressure from the high command he back off from doing anything. He said, now he is free and he will definitely do something good for the people of Bhatkal.
On this occasion ex-minister and KJP candidate from Bhatkal constituency, Mr Shivanand Naik and Shobha Karandlaje also interacted with the people and newly joined KJP workers from Bhatkal have been felicitated.
