King Salman briefed on Prophet's Mosque expansion

Madinah (IINA) – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, who is currently on a visit to Madinah, witnessed a presentation on the Prophet's Mosque and Central Haram Area expansion projects, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. During the presentation at a function held at his place of residence here on Wednesday, King Salman listened to an explanation from Assistant Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Hamoud Al-Maziad as well as engineers and officials in charge of the expansion projects of the Prophet's Mosque and the central region. The king viewed models and replicas of the expansion projects of the Prophet's Mosque, Al-Sunnah path that connects the Prophet's Mosque with Quba Mosque, Quba Mosque expansion and Dar al-Hijrah project, which includes 100 residential and commercial towers with the capacity to accommodate 120,000 guests. He also viewed the projects' related elements including a transport network, housing and investment projects and an international conference center in Madinah. King Salman stressed the importance of careful follow-up of the work in the major expansion of the Prophet's Mosque and its associated projects, which will contribute to serving Islam and Muslims from around the globe, as well as serving the people of the city of the Prophet (PBUH) and its visitors.
