King appoints new governors for Madinah, Eastern Province

RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has appointed new governors for Madinah and the Eastern Province, the Royal Court said on Monday.
Named governor of Madinah Region with the rank of minister was Prince Faisal bin Salman, who is chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG).
Prince Faisal replaced Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed, who had earlier asked to be relieved from his post, said a Royal Court statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
In a separate royal order, the king appointed Prince Saud bin Naif as governor of the Eastern Province, also with the rank of minister.
Prince Prince Saud replaced Prince Mohammed bin Fahd, who had also asked to be relieved, according to SPA.
Previous to his new post, Prince Saud was Chief of the Court of the Crown Prince and his special adviser.
